Know Your School Day
There is a period in our school where we spend the KYSD or the Know Your School Nellas. This is a way of giving gratitude to our teachers. After all their hard work done just for the sake to teach the ‘iskolar ng bayan’, we gave them a period of rest and let them enjoy the show. There is another objective of the Know Your School Day- it is to unmask the student’s abilities in teaching. Those who were willing were given a chance to teach in front of the class. And true, a lot applied for the position as part of the faculty.
During the opening ceremony, the student teachers were represented with a key. This is the key of knowledge. We all have knowledge. It is a gift. Let us make use of it.
The bell rang and the class started. In our class schedule, the first subject was Health. The student teacher in our class was Faith Janielou Vilo. She gave a very detailed explanation about her assigned topic. The teacher, Sir Nellas, was impressed. We all applaued for her excellent teaching, The next subject has social science, represented by English Homicillo ang Christlyn Pielago, we have class contest. Everything seems funnier than madam Legarta’s discussion. Then the next hour was spent the English subject. The lesson was presented by Daphne Gayas, Suzzaine Kasayan ang Kristie mahem Auxilio. There were also able to give a good discussion. We are given a test next day. Although not perfect, most of us passed and Nneka Lim came in and presented the math lesson. After the test, most of us got a good score. Geometry was presented by katima Aiza Juera and Ronald Baldo. There are good student teachers too. The next day, our first ubject was Science A and biology. Our teacher were Stacy Kay Fortuna and Jamaica Englis, hacie de Eric and nympha Rose de La Torren. For the two hours of exploring the human organs, some misunderstandings happened in the class, but we had handed it and yeah, they were good teachers too. As the closing ceremony took place in the afternoon. Many students got recognition for unmaking theirselves to their classmates. I could say “wow”. Most teachers got happy to their students. They were proud being teachers. They were proud they made products-good products. They made the iskolar ng Bayan into good shape.
We thank our teachers. They may teach in different ways – some are fast, some are slow., They may have different kinds of teaching but they only have one goal, to make the students among the rest. We must accept them. They are our second parents in school. We don’t need to be teachers to give them gratitude. All we need to do is to listen their word, answer their question, or ask about their lessons, show your appetite to the lessons that the teacher gave. And be courteous to them. Let us give respect to the teachers. We never jnow but someday, when we grow up, we will really thank them.
