January, February, March- at last, summer has come. What are you going to do this summer? Me? I wanted to spend my few days of vacation home, it is better I will rest from all the stress that the school gives. After a week, I want to go to the beach, spend a week there and have fun. On the next month, I want to fly to local and international destinations and spend the rest of my vacation over there.
On the next day, we folded our clothes, packed our jewelries and accessories, and zipped our bags. We were going to Boracay that day. I was surprised. We haven’t planned this. I never heard my parents saying the word Boracay. As I went outside the house, I can’t see anything because of the smoke that the vehicles give outside. We rode a taxi going to the port. It was too hot to ride a jeepney. We rode a boat going to boracay.as we went to boracay, it was reported a typhoon attacked cebu, my hometown. Good thing we reach Boracay before the typhoon. The typhoon was reported with speed more than 250kmph. In a week, many people died because of the typhoon. I went to the shores. I saw the dark clouds covering Cebu. I notice that the typhoon getting nearer. The waves sounded weird, the sky got darker, the wind blew, and the rain started to drop. I went inside the hotel. After a while, the water level of the ocean got higher, then our place flooded. The typhoon lasted for a week. A lot of thing got damaged. Many people died in that place too. As we went outside the smoke of the vehicles covered the place. It was too hot that a fire was born. The trees turned to ashes and the houses were as black as night. I bought an ice cream but I had never ate it. The sun’s radiance turned my ice cream to water cream. I watch the television in our room just to know that our house was also burned. I lie down on the bed and cried- this was not a vacation, this was a nightmare. After a while, I slept. I woke up and found out that everything was just a dream.
I realized that summer must be spent helping nature. Mother earth needs us today. She is in line with extinction. Our lives will be affected if this happens. We should not spend our vacation having fun in the beach or any tourist destinations. Instead, we should make ourselves steward to nature. We are the cause of global warming which is the main problem of mother earth today. The smokes of vehicle, overpopulation, smokes from factories, air conditioners and refrigerators, and many other human activities thicken the atmosphere. This way, the ultraviolet rays of the sun can’t escape from the atmosphere. Our home earth heats and affects many organisms. We must take this problem seriously. Let us take earth back to its original shape and make it live long. Let us spend our summer helping nature to make a better nature.
